Welcome to enclave-media.com—the art and portfolio site of Jake Hoisington.
Who is Jake Hoisington and why should I care?
Hello. I am Jake Hoisington. I am a multi-award winning senior art director and multi-media director. As you will see throughout the sections of my portfolio, I do many different things and have had a fairly diverse work history. I constantly strive to learn new skills and software. I also do my best to practice the skills that I already have to stay fresh and up to date.
To see photos (a few of which are somewhat embarrassing) or to learn more about me, my hobbies & interests, and my work history, visit my about page.
Why does enclave-media.com look the way it looks? (site design notes)
Every page on this site was designed to be "infinitely" scalable so I can add new samples and sections quickly. I picked orange as a temporary color when I started this site and it grew on me, so I kept it and later added a blue as an accent color. My portfolio samples are very diverse in the media and the color palettes used. It was for this reason that I framed everything in white to break the colors up and picked a simple grid system to keep things somewhat organized amidst the colorful chaos. Why SKULLS? I like them. See more skulls on my illustration & stuff page.
What is in my portfolio and why?
The samples in my portfolio have been picked for various reasons. Having reviewed countless portfolios as a senior art director, I always saw value in the portfolios that contained some things that were rough, unfinished, or early work that showed growth. While I don't think that every sample that I have on this site is my "best" work, I feel that I have picked every piece for a specific reason and its presence on the site may be to show progression or a specific skill. Besides, this is my site and I am proud of all of the work on it... for the most part. :)
Due to the amount of video, animation, multimedia content, and large images on this site, it is best viewed on modern browsers with a high-speed Internet connection.
